So we all know that Climate change is a BIG problem.
you might have heard that the earth is being warmed by greenhouse gasses that trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere. This is unfortunately true. When we burn carbon-based fuel sources to release energy, we are also releasing greenhouse gases. These gasses get trapped in the earth’s atmosphere acting like a blanket; heating the Earth. If Humans keep polluting and destroying the planet like we are now; there will be no planet for us to live on in the future. So we have concluded we need to save the earth and stop climate change!
But how do we do that?

Many people spend long hours thinking about how we should go about doing this. You may have seen the campaigns for more people to start riding their bikes, driving electric cars to work, and for people to start recycling more.
These are all great actions you can take to be a more climate-friendly human! They will cut down on the waste you create and if more people are conscious of their environmental effects, things will start to change.
We can’t just wait around for people to start taking action. It will be too late by then! We are already feeling the effects of climate change in our everyday lives; summers are hotter, winters are colder, storms are more erratic, and the weather is all over the place. We need to do something about this mess we have created!
Scientists, Economists, and people like us have come together to solve the issue. We have concluded that the best way to stop climate change is to put a tax on carbon emissions.
Basically, we would make large companies and manufacturers pay for how much C02 they are releasing into the atmosphere. Since most businesses like to avoid taxes and extra costs; they would switch from using non-sustainable methods to using renewables. It would become more profitable for a business to switch to green energy!
However, this also means that the businesses would dump their extra costs on us; the consumers. That’s where the dividend part comes in. The government collecting the taxes; would then return the money to its citizens. Very smart people at MIT ran the numbers. People in the lower and middle classes actually come out ahead, making a profit!

So, if we know that instituting a Carbon Fee & Dividend is the best way to stop climate change, why don’t we have one?
Some countries including, Switzerland, Austria, and Canada already have a Carbon Fee and Dividend. The main
